Ahmed Musa Returns as Super Eagles Captain for 2025 Unity Cup in London

In an exciting announcement that has thrilled football fans across Nigeria, Kano Pillars have confirmed that legendary forward Ahmed Musa will captain the Super Eagles for the upcoming 2025 Unity Cup set to take place in London later this month.

The news has sparked widespread celebration among Nigerians, many of whom have been eager to see Musa put on the green and white jersey once again.

At 32 years old, Musa remains one of the most iconic figures in Nigerian football history. The former Leicester City winger is the most capped player in Super Eagles history, with 110 appearances and 18 goals since his debut in 2010.

Musa is also the first Nigerian player to score more than once in a single World Cup match and the first to score in two different World Cup tournaments.

His experience spans several major competitions, including the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where Nigeria clinched the title, and the 2019 edition, where the Super Eagles finished third. He was also part of Jose Peseiro’s team that finished second at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

Despite his impressive form for Kano Pillars, where he has netted 8 goals and provided 2 assists this season, Musa has not featured for the national team since the 2023 AFCON. His return to the squad under new head coach Eric Chelle marks a fresh chapter and a chance for redemption.
