Manchester United set to miss out on the signing of Englishman after advanced talks with Chelsea

Chelsea surge ahead of Manchester United in the race for Liam Delap, but shifting priorities at Stamford Bridge could still hand the Red Devils a lifeline.

More troubles for Man United as reports confirmed that their Premier League rivals, Chelsea have edged ahead of the Reds in the race to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap this summer.

The young English striker is a wanted prospect for top clubs in the premier League after a standout campaign where he bagged 12 goals in 37 Premier League appearances (though he couldn’t help his team avoid relegation to the championship) and the 22-Year-Old also received a nomination for the Young Player of the Season award.

Top Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Man Utd, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are all hunting for Liam Delap’s signature – But it looks like Chelsea are currently winning the race against Manchester United who are also a strong contender to sign the Englishman.

Chelsea’s champions League qualifications have given them a huge boost ahead of the Red Devils in the pursuit of Liam Delap.

Meanwhile, Manchester United might probably still have a chance as Chelsea also view Brighton striker Joao Pedro as their priority target this summer.

However, the Blues are braced for hugely difficult negotiations with the Seagulls.

They are therefore lining up Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike as an alternative, but face serious competition from Liverpool.

If Chelsea eventually sign another striker apart from Liam Delap, which means Manchester United might still be in the race to sign the Englishman.
